When cooking daily in the kitchen on a gas stove, splashes of oil, drops of boiled milk, and spice stains inevitably appear. Over time, this stubborn dirt and grease become so ingrained that they cannot be removed with a regular cloth or water, causing even a new stove to look old and dirty.
If you face this problem and want to avoid long hours of cleaning, there is a simple method that allows you to restore your dirty gas stove to a new and shiny appearance using just two things from home.
Methods for cleaning a gas stove
First, you need to remove the burners and the stand from the gas stove.
1. Magic recipe with baking soda and lemon
Sprinkle baking soda generously onto the soiled stove. Then take half a lemon and gently rub it over the baking soda. The acid in the lemon juice reacts with the baking soda, starting to break down the grease. Leave this mixture for 15–20 minutes.
2. Spraying vinegar and hot water
If the stains are very old and difficult to remove, after applying baking soda, you can spray a little white vinegar on it. This will cause light foaming, which will help remove the ingrained greasy film.
3. Cleaning with a scraper and microfiber
After 15 minutes, take a soft sponge or a special non-scratch scraper and gently scrub the stove. Finally, thoroughly wipe the entire surface with a damp microfiber cloth and dry it. Your gas stove will gain a shine as if it were brand new.
