Anac to certify Embraer's automatic takeoff technology by October

The National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) plans to issue a pioneering certification for Embraer by October. This certification will allow the company's aircraft to perform takeoff maneuvers in a fully automated manner.

Tiago Chagas Faierstein, president of the agency, informed Reuters on Tuesday, the 18th, about the progress of the process. The technology in question, called E2TS (Embraer Enhanced Take-Off System), was created by Embraer specifically to be installed on the line of the manufacturer's E2 commercial aircraft.

Faierstein detailed that the certification process is in its final phase, and there is an expectation that an aircraft will obtain approval between September and October. The President of Anac stated: 'We are in the final phase of certification and intend to certify an Embraer aircraft in September or October. It will be a new Embraer E2, which will have the world's first automatic takeoff system.'

With this approval in Brazil, the country would position itself as the first to officially authorize such a system. Furthermore, Anac is already in contact with certifying bodies in both the United States and Europe, aiming to ensure that the technology developed by Embraer is also recognized and approved in these international markets.

Faierstein emphasized the global potential of the innovation, stating: 'It is a technology that was born here and can go to the world. Embraer was the first to develop this technology, will be the first to have the certification, and Anac will be the first certifying authority in the world.'

According to the agency president, the certification obtained in Brazil has the potential to be replicated on an international scale. This is because Brazil, the United States, Canada, and France are part of the CMT (Certification Management Team), an international group dedicated to aeronautical certification.
