The industrial partnership between Uttar Pradesh and Japan has reached a new stage. During the Uttar Pradesh – Japan Investment Conference 2026, held at Taj Palace in New Delhi, a virtual foundation stone laying ceremony was conducted for projects totaling approximately three thousand one hundred ninety-five million rupees.
These major initiatives are aimed at creating new employment opportunities for the region's youth. All mentioned projects are being implemented in the Yamuna Expressway industrial development zone, known as YIEDA.
Escorts Kubota Limited, a manufacturer of tractors and construction equipment, plans to invest two thousand ninety million rupees in Sector Ten of YIEDA. This new production facility will manufacture tractors and related equipment, which is projected to provide jobs for over three thousand eight hundred people.
Furthermore, Minda Corporation Limited intends to establish two large manufacturing projects in YIEDA, investing a total of one thousand one hundred sixty-six million rupees. These investments are expected to create approximately six thousand four hundred forty new jobs. The combined investment from both companies amounts to three thousand one hundred ninety-five million rupees, opening up new avenues for the development of auxiliary industries and supply chains in the YIEDA region.
During the investment conference, a special roundtable discussion was organized, attended by leading business leaders and CEOs of various Japanese and Indian companies. Participants shared their experience investing in Uttar Pradesh and discussed future plans. The discussion covered investment in sectors such as electronics, semiconductors, electric vehicles (EVs), auto components, pharmaceuticals, and green energy in detail.
Business leaders highly praised the business environment in Uttar Pradesh, noting a significant improvement in the business climate. They commended the state's excellent infrastructure, superb transport connectivity, skilled workforce, and government support. A representative from an auto component company stated that their group has been operating in Uttar Pradesh for forty years and now plans a new expansion spanning over fifty acres, where electronic and EV components will be manufactured jointly with Japanese firms.
Participants emphasized that Uttar Pradesh is transforming from merely a large domestic market into a significant hub for global manufacturing, exports, and technology. Thanks to effective government policy and administrative assistance, the confidence of Japanese investors in Uttar Pradesh continues to grow. The implementation of these new Japanese projects will give an impetus to the state's economy and further strengthen ties with Japan.
