The Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan has signed memoranda of cooperation with major Turkish media organizations. The signing ceremony took place in the Turkish city of Balıkesir during an international media forum dedicated to the theme 'From Cultural Direction to Digital Future: Culture, Media, and Artificial Intelligence.'
The documents were signed by Shukhrat Oripov, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan; Yılmaz Karadaj, Chairman of the Federation of Journalists of Turkey; and Süleyman Basa, Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Internet Media Union TİMBİR. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of journalism in both countries, as well as addressing issues related to the digital environment, opportunities for experience exchange, and the potential for joint initiatives.
Details of Cooperation
The partnership with the Federation of Journalists of Turkey, established in 1996, includes planning mutual visits, conducting training seminars on topics such as digital journalism, artificial intelligence, and media literacy, as well as professional development programs for specialists.
Furthermore, cooperation with the TİMBİR union, which unites over 1000 information platforms and more than 800 media organizations, will focus on developing the digital competencies of media employees, implementing educational courses, and exchanging knowledge in the field of journalistic ethics and data verification.
