New videos and data related to Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) have started circulating on the internet, stemming from an alleged leak that includes gameplay clips and a possible map of the city of Leonida. The veracity of this material has not yet been confirmed.
As reported by GameSpot, Rockstar Games has initiated the sending of copyright infringement removal requests, known as DMCA takedowns, against various publications that shared this content.
The leak is said to have been carried out by an individual or group called Cyberleek, who also released a series of demands directed at Rockstar and other companies in the gaming sector.
One video shows Jason, one of the main characters of GTA 6, inside a residence, playing basketball. This clip, lasting about a minute, also displays elements of the game interface and a tutorial on the minigame controls. Some users who accessed the images speculate that the content may belong to an earlier phase of the game's development.
Another video shows Jason driving a vehicle and demonstrates some of the driving functionalities. After colliding with several cars, the character provokes a delivery driver and gets into a fight. This confrontation reveals part of the combat system and culminates with police intervention.
Due to the removal requests, the videos are becoming progressively harder to locate.
In addition to the videos, a map associated with Leonida, the area where GTA 6 will be set, has emerged. However, in this case, greater uncertainties persist regarding the origin of the material, as it is unknown whether it was extracted from Rockstar files or if it is fan-made. For this reason, the information contained in the map should be considered unverified.
The incident took on a unique aspect because Cyberleek did not restrict itself to releasing the supposed materials. The person responsible for the leak also presented three demands to Rockstar and other publishers: Cyberleek stated that these demands represent only the minimum acceptable and threatened to promote new leaks against those publishers who do not comply with their conditions.
The timing of the alleged leak coincides with the proximity of an extended presentation of GTA 6 on Netflix, scheduled for August 27, just over a week after the materials appeared. This presentation is expected to provide more details about the features and systems present in Rockstar's new title.
If the leaked videos are authentic, some of these mechanics could have been revealed before the schedule established by the developer. Even so, since there is no confirmation about the version of the game shown in the images, the clips cannot be considered a reflection of the current state of GTA 6.
The official launch of GTA 6 is scheduled for November 19, 2026, with availability for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. According to available data, physical editions will only come with codes inside the packaging, although Take-Two has not entirely ruled out the possibility of a disc version.
With the extended presentation scheduled for August 27, new official information about GTA 6 should be made available before the November release date.
