Manav Sutara sets record, becomes best Indian bowler in Galle, surpassing Ashwin and Harbhajan

In the Test match against Sri Lanka in Galle, Manav Sutara demonstrated outstanding bowling performance, completely dominating the home team. His contribution was decisive in India's victory by 165 runs.

In the first Test match held in Galle, Manav Sutara took 10 wickets. This impressive feat allowed him to surpass prominent Indian bowlers and set a new historical record. Sutara secured 10 wickets while conceding only 131 runs. In the first innings, he took 4 wickets for 76 runs, and in the second innings, 6 wickets for 55 runs.

Thanks to this achievement, he became the Indian bowler who set the best figures in any Test match on Sri Lankan soil.

Previously, at the Galle ground in 2015 and 2008, Harbhajan Singh and R. Ashwin had also achieved success by taking 10 wickets. However, both these players conceded more runs than Manav Sutara. In 2008, Harbhajan Singh conceded 153 runs to take 10 wickets, and in 2015, Ravichandran Ashwin took 10 wickets conceding 160 runs.

Manav Sutara is the third Indian bowler to manage to take 10 wickets in Sri Lanka. His performance in a career that currently includes only two Test matches is seen as a sign of a future star for the Indian team. Fans continue to follow Sutara's results in upcoming games.

Regarding the total number of 10-wicket hauls, among Indian bowlers who most frequently achieve this result, the legendary player Anil Kumble is at the top. Anil Kumble and R. Ashwin have both taken ten wickets 8 times in their careers, while Harbhajan Singh managed it five times, and Ravindra Jadeja three times.
