According to data from the National Committee on Statistics, during the period from January to July 2026, 4.4 million Uzbek citizens traveled abroad for tourism purposes. Among the most frequently visited countries were Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan.
Compared to the previous year, the number of such trips increased by 45.6 thousand people. Kyrgyzstan took first place in the ranking, hosting nearly two million Uzbeks. It is followed by Kazakhstan, which hosted 805.4 thousand tourists, Tajikistan—745 thousand, and Russia—222.6 thousand.
The list of ten most sought-after destinations included Saudi Arabia (167.3 thousand trips), Turkey (166.9 thousand), the United Arab Emirates (47 thousand), China (43.6 thousand), Egypt (32.5 thousand), and Vietnam (28.2 thousand).
Furthermore, it is reported that a new international checkpoint 'Maamai' and the Kerben – Maamai road are being built on the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border. This new transport corridor is intended to facilitate movement from Uzbekistan to the tourist attractions of the Jalal-Abad region.
