Fiat launches 2027 Pulse with new BlackMotion line, increased prices, and reduction in hybrid options

Fiat began sales of the 2027 Pulse line this Tuesday, the 18th, introducing the special BlackMotion series, which is available for R$ 120,480. The compact SUV now has a starting price range of R$ 104,990, but its range of versions has been reduced from six to five; the T200 CVT and Impetus configurations, previously considered top-of-the-line, have been removed from the dealer's published list.

The Pulse BlackMotion was designed with a focus on darkened elements, including a black roof, glossy black rearview mirrors, 16-inch alloy wheels, darkened logos, and a dark-toned skid plate. This model features a 10.1-inch multimedia center, rear camera, parking sensors, and Keyless system. Its mechanics use the same engine as the previous version: a naturally aspirated 1.3 Firefly engine, capable of generating up to 107 hp and 13.2 kgfm, coupled with a seven-speed simulated automatic CVT transmission.

Frederico Battaglia, responsible for the Fiat and Abarth brands for South America, stated in a note that the special BlackMotion series was created to meet consumers who prioritize design and individuality. Fiat also announced that the Pulse reached the milestone of 250,000 units produced in Betim, Minas Gerais, since 2021.

All other versions retained in the line had a price increase of R$ 1,000 compared to the previous table. The BlackMotion is positioned in the price range previously occupied by the T200 CVT, priced at R$ 119,990. However, the old version featured a 1.0 turbo engine of up to 130 hp and 20.4 kgfm, while the special series maintains the naturally aspirated engine.

There was also a decrease in electrified offerings. In the 2026 line, the Pulse offered two variants with a 12V mild-hybrid system: the Audace, for R$ 136,990, and the Impetus, for R$ 151,490. For the 2027 line, only the Audace T200 MHEV remains, now priced at R$ 137,990, which represents a drop of R$ 13,500 at the top end outside the sports category.

This creates a price range from R$ 25,500 up to the Abarth, whose price is R$ 163,490. The Abarth is the only option with the 1.3 T270 turbo engine, delivering 185 hp and 27.5 kgfm, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds, according to manufacturer data.

Although the BlackMotion badge is not new in the Brazilian market, Fiat has used it in special editions of models such as Stilo (sold between 2009 and 2010), Punto (launched in 2013 with the 1.8 E.torQ engine and an initial price of R$ 49,900), as well as Bravo and Linea, all in the second half of last decade. In all these instances, the strategy was identical: darkening trim, grilles, and wheels of an already established model. The Pulse is the first SUV from the brand to receive this specific treatment.
