Applicants who failed to get accepted into any of the initially chosen five fields, but demonstrated a high score, will be given the opportunity to choose a sixth field. This new regulation is scheduled to come into effect next week.
Information from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation
According to data from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the selection of a sixth field is possible only among specialties that match the applicant's subject set and have available vacant places.
The Ministry also published statistics: this year, 233,935 applicants received less than 56.7 points, which accounts for 37.54% of the total number of entrants. At the same time, the share of such applicants continues to decrease: in 2025, this figure was 41%, in 2024 it was 43%, and in 2023 it was 46%.
Furthermore, leading state universities in Uzbekistan have begun publishing tuition fees under the differentiated contract for the 2026/2027 academic year. For example, at the Termez State University, the cost depends on the specialty and can reach 90 million soms, while the Namangan State Pedagogical Institute has decided to maintain last year's tariffs.
