The creation of special classes and preparatory courses for the children of Uzbek labor migrants is planned in the Primorye region of Russia. This was reported by the 'Dunyo' information agency.
The issue was discussed at a meeting with representatives from Uzbekistan, including the Chief Consul of Uzbekistan, Khojiyakbar Vakhobov, and the country's Minister of Education, Elvira Shamonova.
The main goal of this initiative is to help children adapt to the local education system. It should be noted that as of April 1, 2025, it has become a mandatory requirement in Russia to check the level of Russian language knowledge when foreign children enroll in schools.
During the meeting, issues of social support for children were also considered. Furthermore, the parties agreed to resume student exchange between Uzbekistan and Primorye during summer holidays starting in 2027, as well as to establish direct cooperation between the relevant educational institutions of the two countries.
