Nurmuhammad Otakhodzhayev, founder of Nexus Holding, who spent sixteen years in the United States of America, announced plans to expand his business in Uzbekistan and create jobs in various regions of the country.
Speaking before President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Otakhodzhayev emphasized that during his life and work in America, he had not encountered such a favorable business environment as the one existing in Uzbekistan today. He noted: 'Reading the laws, I recognize one thing: it seems to me that even the United States of America has not offered this much freedom. Now I myself wonder: maybe I should stay here?'
Over the past year, Otakhodzhayev's company has significantly increased its presence in Uzbekistan. If previously about 300 people worked in Tashkent, the staff has now grown to 800 employees. Meanwhile, over three thousand people are employed in Nexus Holding's divisions in the USA.
There is also an increase in employee payments in Uzbekistan. According to Otakhodzhayev, in 2025, the company paid $10.3 million to dispatchers through IT Park, and since the beginning of the current year, the total payment amount has already exceeded $18 million. By the end of 2026, the entrepreneur aims to increase the total volume of payments and tax revenues to more than $35 million.
Expansion of Activities in Regions
In the future, Otakhodzhayev intends to direct part of his new projects to the regions. In particular, he expressed readiness to provide employment for the youth of Khorezm and then gradually extend this practice to other regions. He stated: 'I will not wait for tomorrow. I will start working today, provide jobs for our youth in Khorezm, and we will gradually move to every region.'
The businessman also paid significant attention to the issue of exports. Recently, he visited Brazil together with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan and held negotiations with representatives of the Brazilian export promotion agency Apex, relevant ministries, and the country's leadership. As Otakhodzhayev reported, as a result of these meetings, the trade representation of Uzbekistan was officially opened in Brazil, and a corresponding agreement was signed. The entrepreneur expects to present the results of his work in this new market next year.
President's Reaction and Proposals
President Mirziyoyev highly appreciated Otakhodzhayev's opinion, considering his long experience living and working in the USA. The President noted: 'I liked when you said that such benefits and conditions are not everywhere. It would be good if you told our entrepreneurs about this more often.'
Furthermore, Jahongir Artykhodzhayev previously proposed to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to involve the private sector in the construction of administrative buildings in New Tashkent. According to this proposal, private companies take on the costs of building the facilities and then transfer them to state structures for long-term lease.
