The event 'India Carpet Expo 2026' will take place in the city of Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, from October 4th to 7th. This exhibition, one of Asia's largest carpet fairs, has invited about 400 exporters from 56 countries. Additionally, approximately 350 representatives from various carpet manufacturing companies are expected to participate.
Organizers believe that this event will provide Indian manufacturers and exporters with an opportunity to establish direct business contact with foreign buyers. The Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC), operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, has intensified preparations for the fair. A meeting was held on Tuesday involving members of the Council, representatives of the administrative committee, and the organizing committee to discuss preparations for the event and the participation of foreign delegations.
CEPC Chairman Mukesh Kumar Gonbar stated that the Council has sent invitations to about 400 carpet exporters from 56 countries and is also inviting about 350 representatives from different carpet manufacturing companies. He emphasized that the presence of foreign buyers and business representatives will give Indian carpet companies a chance to establish direct business ties. This can help in finding new markets, expanding business partnerships, and securing new export orders.
About 300 carpet manufacturers and exporters from different states of the country may also participate in the fair. These companies will set up stalls to display their products and conduct business negotiations with foreign buyers. According to CEPC data, one of the main goals of the event is to showcase the quality of Indian handmade goods and floor coverings in the international market, which will provide Indian companies access to new buyers and markets.
Mukesh Kumar Gonbar, Chairman of CEPC, noted the great enthusiasm of foreign buyers regarding the India Carpet Expo 2026. According to him, this event is considered an important business platform for the carpet industry. He expressed hope that the participation of foreign representatives will bring new international business opportunities to the Indian carpet industry and contribute to increased exports.
CEPC also sees the upcoming BRICS summit, which India will host in October, as an opportunity to strengthen business relations. According to the Deputy Chairman of the Council, Aslam Mahbub, work is underway to enhance trade ties with BRICS countries. He added that during events related to the BRICS summit, a delegation is expected to arrive in Varanasi. CEPC representatives plan to meet with foreign delegations to demonstrate the advantages of Indian carpets and handmade floor coverings.
Aslam Mahbub stated that prospects for business cooperation will be studied through negotiations with the delegations. The goal is to integrate the Indian carpet industry with new international markets and increase export opportunities. This exhibition in Bhadohi could become a key platform for Indian manufacturers and exporters, allowing them to directly interact with foreign buyers, seek new orders, partnerships, and opportunities to enter international markets.
