Epicland X9 opens pre-order from 299,800 yuan: Huawei Qiankun and Dongfeng unveil second-generation flagship

On August 18, 2026, an event was held in Chengdu to launch pre-sales for the Epicland X9. This vehicle is the first model from the Epicland brand, which was created through comprehensive cooperation between Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Huawei Qiankun. The second-generation flagship SUV has officially started accepting orders with a starting price of 299,800 yuan.

As demand for family travel grows, family-oriented buyers are raising their requirements, expecting access to advanced technologies, an improved cabin, and reliable protection. The Epicland X9 combines Dongfeng's deep experience in automotive manufacturing with Huawei Qiankun's leading solutions in intelligent vehicle control to completely reimagine the concept of a second-generation family flagship.

Jin Yuzhi, Vice President of Huawei and CEO of Yinwang, noted that the first family flagship resembled a 'mobile home' equipped with a refrigerator, television, and a large sofa. However, the second family flagship is not just an updated version; it features two 'smart companions'—a dedicated driver and a attentive assistant for the entire family. To achieve this, the Epicland X9 fully integrates six comprehensive solutions from Huawei Qiankun: Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving, HarmonySpace cabin, Huawei Qiankun Chitu platform, Huawei Qiankun optics, Huawei Qiankun Vehicle cloud, and Huawei Jingqi connectivity.

Addressing the high safety demands of families, Jin Yuzhi explained that the dedicated driver in the Epicland X9 possesses both a 'smart brain' and a 'fast cerebellum.' The first, based on Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS 5, is capable of recognizing road conditions, planning routes, and autonomously making assisted driving decisions. The second, running on the Huawei Qiankun Chitu platform, precisely executes every driving command based on the HUAWEI XMC six-domain fusion architecture. These two elements work in close synergy, ensuring safety and peace of mind on every journey.

From a software perspective, ADS 5 utilizes the new WEWA 2.0 intelligent architecture, which not only learns faster but also predicts and develops strategies in complex driving conditions, significantly reducing the probability of collisions. Regarding hardware, the Epicland X9 is equipped with an all-around fusion perception system, including a standard dual-optical path LiDAR with 896 lines in all trims. This gives the vehicle 'perceptive eyes' capable of detecting small targets as low as 14 cm high at a distance of 120 meters.

Safety is a priority for family trips. Thanks to the combination of software and hardware from Huawei Qiankun, the Epicland X9's driving assistance system adopts a defensive approach that anticipates risks and makes decisions in advance: it avoids blind overtaking when visibility is obstructed by large vehicles, slows down early in rain and snow, demonstrating the confidence of an experienced driver in difficult situations, making journeys more reassuring.

Jin Yuzhi reported that vehicles equipped with Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS have accumulated 9.5 million kilometers of safe assisted mileage—which is 5.27 times higher than the average among Chinese drivers. As of August 18, 2026, the cumulative assisted driving mileage for Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving exceeded 14 billion kilometers, serving as the most convincing proof of its safety.

The Epicland X9 also includes Huawei Qiankun's CAS 5.0 collision prevention system, providing six-dimensional protection across all timeframes, directions, targets, speeds, weather conditions, and scenarios. The system detects distant dangers in advance and predicts risks. If the driver loses control of the vehicle, the system registers it and proactively stops, activates hazard lights, and calls emergency services for self-rescue. ADS 5 also debuts with the eAES technology, a first in the industry, which actively brakes during evasive maneuvers if the braking distance is insufficient. When detecting a risk of rear-end collision from following vehicles, the system automatically activates hazard lights and proactively accelerates or changes lanes to avoid impact.

With support from Huawei Qiankun, the driving assistance capabilities of the Epicland X9 are further enhanced. The 'park-to-park' function from Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS has been used over 100 million times cumulatively, and parking assistance has exceeded 1 billion times. Selected parking spots can be reached with a single button press, and complex situations such as dead ends and very narrow spaces are easily resolved. The Epicland X9 also features Huawei Qiankun's innovative RCA roaming cruise assist, allowing the vehicle to move freely and search for destinations without using navigation, enabling spontaneous city trips.

Modern cars are designed not only for the 'driver' but for every family member. Jin Yuzhi explained that previous in-cabin voice assistants were like 'service windows'—passengers had to activate the system multiple times for different commands, as if different questions required different people. The Epicland X9 introduces HarmonySpace 6, the industry's first implementation that makes human-vehicle interaction as smooth and natural as human conversation.

The new agent Celia uses a native multi-agent architecture, so users no longer need to give rigid, step-by-step commands—they can perform navigation, control the vehicle, order food, and much more, simply by conversing. The Epicland X9 also features the AI companion robot Hamen, which attaches to the car's display to interact with the whole family: answering questions, offering advice, singing, and calming children—becoming a comprehensive companion in the cabin.

HarmonySpace 6 is also equipped in the Epicland X9 with the industry's first AMS multimodal perception system in the cabin. When a passenger points to a window, sun visor, or reading lamp and says, 'open this,' the system understands and executes the command, which is especially convenient for the elderly and children. The Epicland X9 also provides cabin protection, such as warning when children are leaning out of windows, offering intelligent seat entrapment protection, and monitoring functions for left behind children/pets, providing comprehensive care for the entire family.

For in-cabin entertainment, the Epicland X9 is also fully equipped: it debuts with two 17.2-inch 'Butterfly Wing' displays with soft light and 3.4K resolution. These displays combine eye protection technology with soft light, HDR Vivid image quality, and low blue light certification for clearer details with less visual fatigue. The car's laser projector supports five modes in one unit: cinema mode, floating window mode, single-screen mode, dual-screen mode, and open cinema mode, turning every trip into a private screening with a built-in projector and sound system. The integrated HUAWEI SOUND audio system features 21 independent speakers for excellent sound on every seat, as well as wireless karaoke for the whole family. The Epicland X9 also seamlessly connects to Tencent Cloud Gaming, allowing users to connect a controller and play AAA games on the go, transforming the driving experience.

In addition to the 'dedicated driver' and 'attentive assistant,' the Epicland X9 is fully equipped in all other aspects. The cabin length reaches 3,294 mm, and the width of the third-row seats is 1,101 mm—this is spacious, comfortable, and bright, without sacrificing comfort for any family member. The first row features a double zero-gravity mode, the second row features super cinema mode, and the bed mode covering the second and third rows can be switched freely for flexible configuration. Combined with soft, skin-friendly interior materials, ergonomic mechanical design, and an ion fresh air system, the cabin provides an extensive, comfortable, and healthy experience for everyone.

The design of the Epicland X9 uses the classic golden ratio of head to height 0.618, combined with galaxy flow headlights, luxurious 21-inch wheels, and 5C2B paint technology, giving the vehicle a majestic flagship appearance. Million-pixel smart projectors and intelligent interactive front and rear lighting panels ISD provide a strong technological accent, enhancing the visual expression that balances 'intelligence' and 'beauty.'

Pre-orders for the Epicland X9 are fully open, and six custom color options are available: Alpine White, Tuscany Red, Andes Gray, Bordeaux Purple, Lisbon Black, and Prague Gold Brown. During the pre-order period, customers who place an order receive three exclusive benefits: a lifetime warranty on the vehicle and the three-electric system (limited to the first non-commercial owner), a deposit of 2,000 yuan credited as 5,000 yuan upon purchase, and priority production and delivery after placing the order.

Moving forward, Huawei Qiankun and Dongfeng Motor intend to deepen their comprehensive cooperation, driven by technological innovation, to set a new standard in the development of the high-tech automotive industry, making every family trip filled with aspiration and pleasure.
