The KTM 390 Adventure will be introduced to the Brazilian market in two distinct configurations, with suggested prices of R$ 33,990 for the X version and R$ 37,990 for the R version. Both motorcycles are scheduled to arrive at dealerships in October, marking the first launch of the Austrian brand under the administration of Bajaj do Brasil, which took over KTM's operations in the country.
The two models will be manufactured at the Manaus unit (AM), using components sourced from India, where the 390 line is produced within the global collaboration between KTM and Bajaj. This domestic production aligns with the expansion plan for the dealership network, which currently has 12 points of sale in the country.
Both models share the 398.7 cm³ LC4c single-cylinder engine, equipped with liquid cooling, generating 45 hp of power and 3.97 kgfm of torque. This engine operates with a six-speed transmission, assisted and slipper clutch, and includes a standard bidirectional quickshifter. The fuel tank holds 14 liters and features a design optimized for standing riding, while the stainless steel exhaust system omits the rear muffler, inspired by the 390 Enduro R.
The 390 Adventure X functions as the entry-level option in the line and has been specifically tuned to meet the needs of urban environments, asphalt travel, and less complex off-road sections. It comes equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels in the front and 17 inches in the rear, accompanied by all-terrain tires. Its WP APEX suspension has a more limited travel, with the front offering no adjustment and the rear allowing only preload adjustment. The seat height of this version is 82.5 cm, the dashboard is a 5-inch LCD, and it offers two riding modes: Street and Offroad.
The 390 Adventure R, on the other hand, is geared towards trail performance. It uses spoked wheels measuring 21 inches in the front and 18 inches in the rear. The front WP APEX suspension receives compression and rebound adjustments, and the rear shock allows for both preload and rebound adjustment. The ground clearance reaches 27.2 cm, and the seat height increases to 87 cm, representing an increase of 4.5 cm compared to the X version, which may influence the choice of shorter riders. Furthermore, this version's dashboard is a 5-inch color TFT, and the electronics add the Rain mode to the two modes already present in the entry-level version.
Independent of the chosen version, the electronic package includes ride-by-wire throttle, ABS Stability Control (Cornering ABS), and inclination-sensitive traction control, all calibrated according to the selected riding mode. The ABS system also has a dedicated function for off-road use.
Both motorcycles are compatible with the installation of top cases and side panniers. However, features such as cruise control and heated grips are not part of the standard package and must be purchased as separate accessories. KTM announced that the arrival of the 390 Adventure initiates a series of future launches planned for the Brazilian market under the new management.
