Citroën released the 2027 lineup of the Basalt this Tuesday (18th), introducing the Dark Edition version with a manual transmission and naturally aspirated engine. This model, which accounts for approximately half of the car's sales in the year, is available for R$ 98,990.
Furthermore, there was a price change for the entry-level version, the Basalt Feel MT, whose cost was reduced from R$ 97,690 to R$ 95,590. This decrease of R$ 2,100 occurred after the vehicle was included in the Sustainable Car program, which offers IPI exemption for cars that meet energy efficiency requirements.
With these changes, the model range now comprises five options: Feel MT, Dark Edition MT, Feel Turbo 200, Shine Turbo 200, and Dark Edition Turbo 200.
Pedro Silva, Citroën's director for South America, stated in a press release that the 2027 lineup brings all the features of the most complete and best-selling version, the Dark Edition, adapting it to a model with a manual gearbox and naturally aspirated engine.
This specific configuration preserves the naturally aspirated 1.0 Firefly engine and incorporates the characteristic visual package of the line, which includes a darkened interior, black premium-upholstered seats, and red stitching details. Other visual elements include a similarly finished steering wheel, sporty pedals, upholstered door armrests, dual chevrons, and darkened and exclusive sill protectors and logos.
The possibility of obtaining reduced IPI comes from the Smart Charger system, which optimizes energy generation during braking and deceleration, recovering some of the energy that would otherwise be lost. This technology had already been applied to the C3 line.
At the top of the line, the Dark Edition Turbo 200 costs R$ 120,990 and now includes the keyless feature, allowing keyless start, in addition to offering Polar White, a color not previously in the Citroën catalog. The black roof remains an optional item, which can be extended to the end of the rear window line. The Shine Turbo 200, valued at R$ 119,990, also receives the keyless functionality.
The Turbo 200 engine, capable of generating up to 115 hp, continues to be offered with the seven-speed simulated automatic CVT gearbox and Sport mode. In this combination, the Feel Turbo 200 has the lowest price, costing R$ 113,990.
All models received technological improvements, including two Type C USB ports in the second row, one Type A USB port, a 12V socket on the dashboard, and a document holder. The 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster was maintained, while the 10.25-inch Citroën Connect Touchscreen multimedia center received a new dark-themed interface, supporting wireless mirroring for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
For PCD customers, the Shine Turbo 200 is available for R$ 99,990, a value that includes tax benefits and special conditions from the manufacturer. The announced prices are valid for direct factory invoicing to individuals in Ruby Red. Citroën assures that with this new price, the Feel MT remains the most affordable compact SUV in the country.
