HoverIt manufactures drone munitions and reconnaissance vehicles in Lucknow

HoverIt, which trades under the name Kawa UAV Private Limited, was established in Lucknow in August 2022 and operates within the Uttar Pradesh state's Defence Industrial Corridor. The company is engaged in the development and production of unmanned aerial vehicles, expanding its focus from reconnaissance platforms to strike systems.

The company's product range includes several types of missions. Aangh is a compact drone for reconnaissance, surveillance, and data collection equipped with thermal imaging equipment. Raftaar is a fixed-wing aircraft designed for long-range surveillance with vertical takeoff capability. Baaz is used for payload delivery and high-altitude operations.

The Divyastra line is a strike series, and the company numbers its versions Mk1, Mk2, and Mk3 in order of their development. The original Mk1 model, equipped with a propeller, is described by the company as a multi-purpose munition drone capable of swarming and boasting a claimed flight range of 500 km with an operational duration of five hours. Earlier this year, the Mk2 underwent high-speed testing on the Ganga Expressway.

On August 11, 2026, the Divyastra Mk3, a jet-powered version utilizing a turbofan engine from DG Propulsion in Delhi, completed a flight. Both companies consider this flight the first in Indian history for a jet munition drone, asserting that the program progressed from inception to first flight in just one year. The company reports that its platforms were tested in real operational conditions, including high-altitude missions in Ladakh, riverbed reconnaissance, and payload delivery exercises with defense forces, as well as being utilized by units of the Indian Army.

Because the same airframe can carry various payloads, the buyer receives one platform capable of performing multiple functions instead of purchasing a separate vehicle for each task. In January 2026, HoverIt announced securing seed funding of $500,000, positioning itself as the first drone manufacturer to establish a presence in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor. At that time, the company stated its valuation exceeded $5 million and it was preparing for a second round of financing.

In March 2026, Invest UP reported that the company plans to commence manufacturing operations at the Lucknow corridor node by the end of the year, and company representatives demonstrated their systems to state industrial development officials in Lucknow. The company's ambitions extend beyond India; it intends to offer its platforms to international buyers, arguing that a system tested in Indian terrain and according to Indian testing standards will be effective elsewhere.

However, no information has been disclosed regarding the size of the order, volume of supply, or the client's name. The company's account of military use is its own version, and neither a contract, tender, nor commissioning has been publicly announced. For a company whose strongest asset is a flight that occurred a week ago, the commercial story is yet to be written.
