CM Yogi states that India-Japan partnership will increase investments and jobs in Uttar Pradesh

To transform Uttar Pradesh into a one-trillion-dollar economy, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has initiated a series of bilateral meetings with Japanese industrialists. At the 'India-Japan Business Conclave' held at the Taj Hotel in Delhi, the state chief invited Japanese companies to invest in Uttar Pradesh.

A high-level delegation from Japan, led by Yamanaishi Kotaro Nagasaki, the governor of Yamanashi Prefecture, arrived in India, comprising over 200 Japanese CEOs and business leaders. During the meeting with the Japanese delegation, CM Yogi noted that thanks to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, relations between India and Japan have reached new heights.

Focus on creating new jobs

Yogi Adityanath emphasized the huge potential for investment in sectors such as automotive manufacturing, semiconductors, green technologies, and hydrogen energy in Uttar Pradesh. He assured that his government is ready to provide all necessary support to Japanese investors for implementing projects locally.

He also highlighted how the India-Japan partnership can transform into new opportunities for investment and job creation in Uttar Pradesh.

Governor Kotaro Nagasaki highly praised the infrastructure of Uttar Pradesh and the favorable investment climate, expressing deep interest in clean energy, skill development, and tourism.

Presence of prominent central and state ministers

The five-day forum, 'UP-Japan Investment Summit 2026', began with a banquet honoring the Japanese delegation. Present were Piyush Goel, the central level Minister of Commerce and Industry; Jhitin Prasad, a central level minister; Suresh Hanna, the UP Finance Minister; Nand Gopal Nandi, the Minister of Industrial Development; Ake Sharma, and Jaivir Singh.

The events, organized by 'Invest UP', will take place from August 18 to 23 in the cities of New Delhi, Lucknow, Agra, Greater Noida, and Varanasi. A marathon of meetings is scheduled for August 19 in Delhi. The main 'UP-Japan Investment Summit 2026' will be held on August 21 in Lucknow, featuring G2B and B2B sessions. Furthermore, on August 22, the Japanese delegation will visit Varanasi and perform a pilgrimage to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
