The government has approved a new scheme aimed at accelerating the expansion of the domestic pipeline natural gas (PNG) network. The goal of this initiative is to provide a wider range of households in the country with access to clean, safe, and affordable cooking fuel.
It was announced in Delhi that to facilitate the development of the PNG network and encourage more families to start using gas fuel in their kitchens, the government approved an incentive system on Tuesday. This system provides distribution companies with additional domestic gas at a reduced price for every new connection point they activate.
The allocated additional gas will replace more expensive liquefied natural gas, which CGD structures currently purchase for their compressed natural gas (transport) segment. This, in turn, will allow them to reduce overall gas procurement costs.
