Approximately forty students fell ill after consuming food from the school lunch at Parsi Middle School in the Nursrai area, Nalanda district. In a rush, they were all transported to the Model Hospital Bihar Sharif for treatment, where medical care is ongoing. Panic arose among parents following the incident, and chaos was observed at the hospital, although most children are considered safe.
Upon receiving information about the situation, Shravan Kumar, the Minister of Agriculture of the Bihar government, arrived at the hospital to examine the sick children. The Minister instructed the hospital administration to ensure proper treatment for all children. He emphasized that strict action would be taken against those responsible.
Furthermore, the District Civil Surgeon of Nalanda stated that the treatment of all children is progressing well, and no one will be allowed to suffer. The Nalanda Civil Surgeon and several doctors treating the children are present at the hospital.
A school teacher reported that the lunch for the school meal came from another school, and the soybean vegetable dish lacked sufficient salt. When the girls asked for salt, the teacher mistakenly gave them powder instead of salt. After consuming the dish, dozens of girls complained of stomach aches and vomiting, after which they were taken to the Model Hospital for treatment.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Jai Prakash Singh confirmed that all children are safe. A crowd of parents and officials gathered at the Model Hospital.
