Uzbekistan will reduce prepayment for gas and electricity for businesses to 15%

Sherzod Asadov, a representative of the President of Uzbekistan, announced that Uzbekistan plans to reduce the size of advance payments for electricity and gas from 100% to 15% for enterprises connected to automated gas and electricity metering systems and complying with payment requirements.

This decision was announced after the sixth open dialogue of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev with entrepreneurs in Khiva. According to the president, entrepreneurs have repeatedly pointed out that the necessity of full advance payment for energy resources reduces their working capital.

The new procedure will apply to companies that use automated gas and electricity metering systems and maintain payment discipline. Furthermore, Mirziyoyev announced plans to transform the management system in the energy sector.

According to the president's statement, a new system will be introduced in every district that will take into account both the current needs of entrepreneurs and their future intentions. Specific changes in the financing of construction projects are planned for 2027.

To stimulate the growth of contractors and designers, an amount equal to 5% of the minimum wage per man-hour will be allocated, regardless of the construction site. State project evaluations will provide contractors with 7% profit.

Financing for design work will range from 4% to 7% of the project cost, depending on the complexity of the construction. Another priority set by the president is the development of an ecosystem linking artificial intelligence, improved management efficiency, and new investments.

Mirziyoyev emphasized that under changing market conditions, entrepreneurs need to apply artificial intelligence to increase added value and productivity while simultaneously reducing production costs.
