Production Woza Bakzin and Goldmax Release Joint Album 'GIB – Gqom In Black'

Production Woza Bakzin and Goldmax have presented their first joint album titled 'GIB – Gqom In Black', thereby celebrating the gqom genre. As part of the album release, the single 'Kush’ Ibhadu' was released, featuring DJ Tira.

This project, consisting of 14 tracks, unites two producers, each occupying their niche in the genre. They combined their production styles to create a work that simultaneously honors the origins of gqom and pushes the sound forward.

The track 'Kush’ Ibhadu' led the album presentation, featuring the renowned gqom master DJ Tira. Thanks to heavy drums, an infectious rhythm, and Darbin's unique energy, this track sets the tone for the entire 'GIB' album—it is loud, uncompromising, and made for the dance floor.

For Woza Bakzin, the collaboration with Goldmax feels like a natural progression after many years of admiring each other's work. Bakzin explained that he has known Goldmax since early years, and Goldmax always said he admired his creativity.

They began working together on individual compositions before realizing that their production chemistry could develop much further. Bakzin mentioned that sometimes Goldmax would send him songs he was working on alone, and the public liked and supported it. Eventually, they started enjoying their shared production style, and the joint project seemed inevitable.

Initially, Bakzin assumed their collaboration would lead to a mini-album (EP). However, Goldmax had bigger plans. Bakzin noted with surprise that Goldmax suggested making a full-length album.

Goldmax explained that the decision to create a full-length project was made after he noticed similarities in Bakzin's production approaches. He stated that he saw a reflection of his own style in Bakzin's and decided to work with him on a large amount of music before deciding on a joint album.

DJ Tira Brings Energy

The duo did not delay in making a statement by releasing their first single. The track 'Kush’ Ibhadu' includes DJ Tira, whose contribution adds another level of authenticity to the gqom collaboration rooted in Darbin's DNA. According to Bakzin, the track immediately stood out, making it clear that this would be the first release.

This collaboration also continues the producers' relationship with gqom veteran DJ Tira, as they have previously worked with him both together and separately. Bakzin emphasized that they have been fortunate to work with DJ Tira on numerous projects, both jointly and individually.

More Music on the Way

Although the duo has just released its first joint album, fans should not expect 'GIB' to be a one-off collaboration. Goldmax announced that the pair is already looking to the future. He noted that he constantly works, and Bakzin shares this opinion, so listeners can expect many releases from them.

Currently, 'GIB – Gqom In Black' offers listeners 14 tracks from two producers who clearly believe that their combined sound is greater than the sum of its parts. With DJ Tira's participation in 'Kush’ Ibhadu', the duo has made it clear: Darbin's gqom heartbeat remains very active.
