Rishabh Pant sets world record by hitting one hundred sixes in test match against Sri Lanka

On the fourth day of the test match in Galle, Rishabh Pant displayed explosive batting, eliciting a strong response from the Sri Lankan players. The Indian team took to the field aiming to quickly accumulate runs and set a high tempo for the game, and Pant immediately showcased his aggressive style of play.

Initially, Pant took a pause, allowing himself to play cautiously against the bowlers. However, after settling in, he changed his style, starting a flurry of fours and sixes.

On this day, Pant achieved a significant milestone in the history of the first Test match, becoming the first player in Test cricket history to hit 100 sixes fastest. He accomplished this major feat eight years after his debut in Test matches.

During his second innings, Pant played extremely aggressively. He hit a magnificent six over long-off off fast bowler Lahiru Kumara. Then, using his signature hook shot against the same Kumara, he completed the hundred sixes. It was with this six that he also reached a half-century in just 53 balls.

By hitting a six, he set a world record. In his 89th Test match, Pant surpassed the mark of 100 sixes, creating a new world record. Previously, other batsmen required significantly more time to achieve this goal. Thanks to this impressive performance, Pant became the fourth player in the world and the first from India to hit 100 sixes in Test cricket. It is worth noting that in the first innings of the match, Pant also hit one six in his innings of 39 runs.
