Nasaf Football Club has learned the composition of its group in the AFC Champions League 2 for the 2026/27 season. The tournament draw took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Nasaf was assigned an entirely Arab group.
According to the results announced by the Asian Football Confederation, the team will compete against Al Wahda from the UAE, Kuwait SC from Kuwait, and Al Khalidya from Bahrain. Nasaf earned the right to participate in this tournament by finishing third in the Uzbekistan Super League at the end of the 2025 season.
The spot in the AFC Champions League 2 went to Nasaf because the team that finished second and won the 'Pakhtakor' Cup was directed to the qualification round of the AFC Champions League Elite. The AFC Champions League 2 is the second most significant club competition in Asia after the AFC Champions League Elite.
Thirty-two teams participate in the group stage of the tournament, distributed into eight quartets. Teams will play each other both at home and away, and the two best teams from each group will advance to the Round of 16. The start of the first round is scheduled for September 15.
This tournament holds historical significance for Nasaf, as in 2011, representatives of the club won the AFC Cup, which was the predecessor to the current AFC Champions League 2, becoming the first Uzbek clubs to win a continental trophy. It was previously noted that Nasaf's head coach, Ruzikul Berdiev, is among the three most dedicated coaches to his club in the world.
