Punjab plans to improve the public transport system for residents of rural areas. Punjab Transport Minister Harpal Singh Chima announced that 100 new PRTC Junior model buses will be added to the PRTC (Punjab Road Transport Corporation) fleet by September.
These minivans are manufactured and supplied by Eicher. The introduction of these buses will make bus services in rural areas more accessible and beneficial to a larger number of people. This decision was made following a meeting with officials from the transport department.
Transport Minister Harpal Singh Chima instructed the officials at the meeting to work on further improving public transport services and asked them to present new proposals. He also emphasized the need to strengthen the financial position of PRTC and find new sources of income.
