The size of the business community in Uzbekistan has grown to 1.2 million people. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this on August 18 during an open dialogue with business representatives held in Khorezm region, and also congratulated entrepreneurs on their professional holiday.
The head of state noted that over the past five years since the implementation of entrepreneurship support measures, 84 laws, as well as 861 decrees and resolutions, have been adopted. Thanks to these measures, the credit portfolio for businesses has increased almost threefold, reaching a volume of 450 trillion soums. Additionally, the total volume of tax and customs benefits provided amounted to 650 trillion soums.
During the same period, enterprises' investments in fixed capital increased threefold, reaching 363 trillion soums. Simultaneously, there is an expansion in both the geography of industrial production and the service sector.
Specific indicators show that the number of districts where the volume of industrial production exceeds 100 million dollars has increased from 66 to 116. The number of territories with a service volume exceeding 1 trillion soums has also grown—from 41 to 152. Moreover, about 3.5 thousand local enterprises have brought their products to international marketplaces, and hundreds of entrepreneurs who started operating at the mahalla level have opened branches across the country and created their own trademarks.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that current entrepreneurs are transitioning from the stage of starting their business to the phase of capital accumulation. The current open dialogue was the largest in its entire history, as about 25 thousand entrepreneurs joined the meeting with the president for the first time.
Earlier, the creation of a unified register of mandatory requirements for business in Uzbekistan was announced. According to this decision, enterprises will not be held liable for non-compliance with requirements that are absent from this system.
