Following the 17th round of the Uzbekistan Super League, Neftchi strengthened its leadership in the standings, accumulating 42 points.

The Farghana club is 4 points ahead of its closest pursuer, Pakhtakor. The Tashkent-based team holds second place with 38 points.

The legendary Uzbek boxer, known as the 'Tashkent Tiger,' has died at the age of 76. This was announced by the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation.

Rufat Risqiyev competed in the 75 kg weight category. He was a four-time USSR champion, recognized as the first world champion among Uzbek boxers in 1974, and won a silver medal at the 1976 Montreal Olympics.

After his athletic career, Risqiyev worked as a coach and referee. In recent years, he had been battling a serious illness. Notably, in 2016, his right leg was amputated due to thrombosis.
