Indian Passenger Shares Negative Experience in Emirates Business Class, Citing Feeling of Disrespect

During an international trip, every traveler expects a high level of service and respect, especially when purchasing a ticket in the expensive business class, anticipating improved conditions and special attention. However, the experience of one Indian woman in Emirates airline's business class turned out to be so negative that she expressed her dissatisfaction on social media. The woman claimed that three incidents occurred during the flight that made her feel ignored.

This case involves Rachna Ramchand, the founder of an Indian startup. She shared her experience on social media. According to Rachna, this was her first trip in Emirates business class, and she was very excited about it. Nevertheless, some events during the journey spoiled her impression.

Rachna recounted that she was talking with a male passenger in the Emirates airport lounge area. At that moment, an employee approached them and asked the man if he wanted to have lunch. Rachna noted that the employee did not address her and completely ignored her. Only after Rachna herself called the employee and informed him that she also needed to eat was her order taken. After this incident, she felt quite strange.

She said another similar incident happened. When an employee brought water for the man, he asked him if he needed more water. Rachna was not asked about this. Rachna felt that she was once again not receiving the same attention as the man she was sitting with. These two instances raised questions for her about the reasons behind such treatment.

The third incident caused Rachna even greater discomfort. She reported that the man she was talking to had hearing problems, so they were speaking a bit louder than each other. At that moment, the employee asked them to speak more quietly. Rachna objected, stating that they were not intentionally speaking loudly, but raising their voices because the other person had difficulty hearing.

Expressing her dissatisfaction with these three events on social media, Rachna emphasized that she runs her own business and paid money for her seat in business class. Despite this, she felt like she didn't deserve to sit in that part of the cabin. By sharing her experience, she also stated that she finds it easier to travel in economy class. Her post quickly spread across social media and was seen by many people.

Following Rachna's post, discussions began on social media. Some people considered her experience serious, arguing that no passenger should feel so ignored. However, others opined that not every event can be considered a direct manifestation of discrimination; in their view, it could be the result of a misunderstanding or employee negligence, especially considering the hearing issue of another passenger in the third incident. Emirates airline responded to Rachna's post, but the situation will only become fully clear after the airline provides an official response to the entire matter. For now, this Indian woman's experience remains a topic of discussion on social media.
