Two films, 'Avarapan 2' and 'Bantwara 1947', are currently showing in cinemas and have received mixed reactions from the public. Before the release of these movies, 'Bantwara 1947' starring Sunny Deol dominated, but the situation changed drastically after the premiere, as Imran Hashmi's film 'Avarapan 2' won at the box office.
The start of 'Avarapan 2's' run was very successful. On the day of release, the film generated double-digit revenue, marking the best start in the actor's career. Audiences were captivated by a wave of nostalgia. On Saturday, 'Avarapan 2' made its most significant jump and became a hit for two days. However, the collection on Sunday was somewhat weaker. After a strong collection over two days, the film showed a decline in income on the third day.
On Monday, 'Avarapan 2's' revenue also dropped significantly. According to Sakencilk, the net collection for the fourth day was only 9.25 crore rupees. Due to it being a workday, revenue fell by approximately 65%. The total net collection for the film now reached 91 crore rupees. As for the worldwide gross, the film earned a total of 130 crore rupees. Thus, 'Avarapan 2' failed the Monday test, as higher earnings were expected despite around 10 thousand screenings.
In contrast, the collection for 'Bantwara 1947' remained consistently disappointing. Compared to 'Avarapan 2', Sunny's film collected only about 26 crore rupees in net collection during the first weekend. Both 'Bantwara' and 'Avarapan 2' faced poor results in the Monday test. On the fourth day, 'Bantwara' collected only 2 crore rupees in net collection, which means a revenue drop to 72%. The total net collection for 'Bantwara 1947' amounted to only 28.50 crore rupees.
Both films began to weaken on the fourth day of the first week. The drop on Monday was expected due to the workday, but such a sharp decline in 'Avarapan 2's' collections might not please Imran's fans.
