Anthropic, the developer of the Claude chatbot, recorded an annualized revenue exceeding US$ 65 billion, equivalent to approximately R$ 338 billion, by the end of July, according to information obtained by Reuters from a source close to the matter.
This new level demonstrates significant progress when compared to the US$ 47 billion (R$ 244 billion) reported in May, and represents an even more notable leap compared to the approximately US$ 9 billion (R$ 47 billion) achieved at the end of 2025.
It is important to note that the metric known as 'revenue run rate' projects annual revenue based on the current sales pace, meaning that the US$ 65 billion is not necessarily the revenue actually accounted for by Anthropic in a 12-month cycle.
This accelerated growth occurs while the artificial intelligence (AI) startup prepares for a possible initial public offering (IPO), which could happen this year or in 2026.
The recent financial results are a crucial factor that may shape the company's valuation by investors before a potential stock market listing. Anthropic already showed a remarkable expansion trajectory, raising its annualized revenue from about US$ 9 billion at the end of 2025 to US$ 47 billion in May, and now surpassing US$ 65 billion in July.
This acceleration takes place amid intense competition in the AI sector, involving giants such as OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, and other large technology corporations developing their own models.
Anthropic's strategy has been to focus on the corporate market through Claude, while simultaneously expanding the capacity of its AI models.
Additionally, the US$ 65 billion figure comes just days after Reuters reported that Anthropic is working with much higher revenue projections for the coming years. Two sources indicate that the company forecasts revenue of approximately US$ 190 billion to US$ 200 billion (which corresponds to R$ 988.8 billion or R$ 1.04 trillion) by 2028.
This projected estimate is considerably higher than the US$ 47 billion growth rate disclosed in May and illustrates the magnitude of expectations for a possible IPO.
Investors and banks involved in analyzing the company use enterprise value-to-revenue multiples to estimate Anthropic's potential market value. This method is frequently employed in fast-growing software companies that do not yet have a consolidated profit history.
However, the company maintains high expenses related to computing infrastructure, training, and operating the AI models, in addition to hiring costs for specialists.
The investors' thesis is that these costs will represent a smaller share of revenue as Anthropic grows and technological advancements make training and inference processes more efficient.
Thus, the jump to over US$ 65 billion in annualized revenue underscores Anthropic's extraordinary speed of expansion and raises expectations about the company's possible entry into the stock market this year.
