Currently, all attention is focused on the 4000 crore Ramayana film, which is intended to represent India on the global stage. Despite high expectations, some critics are expressing dissatisfaction, touching upon both the trailer and the cast.
Discussions continue surrounding Ranbir Kapoor's participation in the Ramayana film. Many viewers note the absence of the spiritual depth they saw in Arun Govil's performance. Recently, a heated discussion erupted on the ANI platform, where media commentator Abhijit Iyer Mitra criticized the choice of Ranbir Kapoor.
Initially, the commentator sharply reacted to the Ramayana film trailer, calling it 'terrible' and even 'disgusting,' stating that he would not watch the movie. He then moved on to discuss Ranbir Kapoor. Comparing this film to the series Ramayan Raman Sangra, Abhijit focused his criticism on Ranbir for portraying Lord Rama. He noted that while he likes Ranbir, the portrayal of Lord Rama lacks the reverent sincerity present in Arun Govil's depiction of Rama.
Mentioning the series Ramayan Raman Sangra, Abhijit emphasized that although that series could be considered 'popular' in its time, Arun Govil's face held a special degree of reverence, which is not visible on Ranbir's face in the current version. Furthermore, Abhijit commented on Sai Pallavi, who played Sita in Ramayana, expressing full agreement with the choice of the southern actress. He clarified that he has no personal dislike for Ranbir Kapoor; his objection is solely that the actor does not convey the necessary emotions in the role of Lord Rama.
The media commentator also shared his opinion regarding the creative freedom used in the Ramayana film. He stated that it is easy for him to make the picture more contemporary in line with the spirit of the modern age, but insists that one should not deviate too far from the core meaning and soul of this epic.
As for the Ramayana film itself, it is being created in two parts. The first part is scheduled to release on Diwali this year, specifically on November 8th in India. However, globally, the release will take place two days earlier, on November 6th. The project is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, and produced by Namit Malhotra.
