The success of the film Dhurandhar The Revenge breathed new hope into Bollywood this year, and many other films have postponed their release. Even Yash from KGF postponed the premiere of his film Toxic because the public was highly interested in Dhurandhar. Discussions about this postponement were actively held on social media.
After the rescheduling of Toxic, people speculated that Yash was afraid of Dhurandhar Ranveer Singh. Recently, the South Indian superstar openly discussed these claims on the show 'Aap Ki Adalat'. After several months, Yash clarified the reason why he decided to postpone the release of his film along with Dhurandhar 2.
Yash stated that the decision to move the release date of Toxic was not made out of fear or arrogance. According to him, the decision was related to self-respect. He was not concerned about financial losses of 100 or 200 crore rupees. For him, it is much more important to fulfill the promise to the audience regarding the type of film he promised them.
The Kannada superstar also emphasized that if Toxic were released on the scheduled date only to maintain an image or prove something to someone, it would be pure egoism. He was more worried that he might fail to meet the audience's expectations. If he feels the film has not reached the level he expected, he will not refuse to postpone the screening.
Yash also asserted that he never intentionally set the date of his film to clash with any other picture. Instead, the release date of his film is announced first, and only then does a clash occur with another film if it is released on the same date.
This year promises to be special for Yash, as he will appear in two films—Toxic and Ramayan. Both these films will be released globally. While Toxic collaborated with Lionsgate Play, Ramayan partnered with Sony Pictures for a worldwide release. Yash acts as a producer in both films. The film Toxic is ready for release on August 26.
