The Iranian U17 men's national volleyball team defeated Italy with a score of 3:1 in a friendly match held in Doha. This game is part of the team's preparatory phase before the upcoming FIVB U17 World Championship.
Iran U17 National Team Defeats Italy in Friendly Match
The team, led by Arash Sadeghiani, secured its second consecutive victory in pre-tournament matches before the tournament, which will take place in Doha, Qatar, from August 19 to 28.
Iran started the match very confidently against Italy, winning the first set 25:20, and then increased its advantage by winning the second set 25:21. Italy managed to respond in the third set, taking it 25:21, but Iran maintained composure in the tense fourth set, securing the victory 26:24 and finishing the match 3:1.
This result gave Iran additional confidence ahead of the World Championship campaign. Previously, the team had already beaten Egypt 3:1 in its first friendly match after arriving in Doha.
Iran has been placed in Group E along with Taipei China, Pakistan, and Algeria. Their tournament campaign will begin with a match against Algeria on August 19, followed by a meeting with Pakistan on August 21 and Taipei China on August 23.
