Iranian Handball Player Farroki Expresses Optimism About Participation in Nagoya Tournament

Iranian national handball player Mohammadhossein Farroki shared his optimism regarding the team's preparation and the influence of the new coaching staff.

The men's handball tournament as part of the 2026 Asian Games will take place in Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to 28. Iran has been placed in Group B alongside South Korea, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Kazakhstan.

Farroki noted that the team conducted a good training camp and is now heading to Serbia for a preparatory training session. He expressed hope that the new coach can help the national team and is counting on a successful performance under his leadership.

The player also emphasized the high intensity of the training process, stating that athletes are undergoing very tough sessions as they aim to make a strong impression in Japan. In his opinion, the team is capable of winning a medal in Nagoya.

Despite the group including several strong teams, which makes Iran's path to the playoffs difficult, the combination of young players, experienced coaching staff, and the team's ambition generates optimism around the national team. Iran is using the training camp in Serbia as an important opportunity to refine tactics and strengthen team spirit before traveling to Nagoya. For Rahimi Kazaruni and his teammates, the goal is clear: despite the difficult group and the absence of key players, Iran intends to fight for a spot on the podium at the Asian Games.
