The first state higher education institutions in Uzbekistan have begun to publish tuition fees for the differentiated contract system for the 2026/2027 academic year.
At the Termez State University, the cost of study can reach 90 million soms depending on the chosen specialty. Meanwhile, the Namangan State Pedagogical Institute has decided to maintain the previous rates that were in effect in the last academic year.
Cost Breakdown at Termez State University
According to information provided by Termez State University, the initial fee for full-time bachelor's degree under the differentiated contract is 29.6 million soms. This amount applies to fields such as archaeology, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, sociology, and several philological disciplines.
For specialties related to art, design, and music, the tuition fee is set at 35.8 million soms. Studying history, Uzbek philology, psychology, and journalism will cost 37 million soms, while English philology will cost 48.9 million soms.
The highest fee—90 million soms—is allocated to law, public and state administration, and international relations. Furthermore, for evening and distance learning formats, the differentiated contract ranges from 34.5 to 90 million soms, and second higher education in law will cost 68.6 million soms.
In contrast, the Namangan State Pedagogical Institute has refused to raise prices for the differentiated contract for the 2026/2027 academic year, keeping the rates from the 2025/2026 academic year. It was previously noted that student enrollment has sharply increased in universities across Uzbekistan.
