The third day of the Dutch test allowed the Indian team to strengthen its dominance over Sri Lanka. India scored 462 runs in the first innings, while the Sri Lankan team showed signs of fighting back.
Indian veteran batsman Rishabh Pant had the opportunity to play a big match, but despite scoring 39 runs using four fours and one six off 62 balls, he lost his position again due to an unsuccessful shot.
Nevertheless, one of the sixes hit by Rishabh Pant is significant. Thanks to this single shot, Pant surpassed the notable record of great Australian batsman Edgm Gillchrist, achieving an important milestone.
In the match played on foreign soil, Rishabh Pant became the second player in the world with the most sixes in Test matches outside his home country. By hitting sixes in the Dutch Test, his total number of sixes away from home reached 57. He thus moved Edgm Gillchrist, who had 56 sixes, to the third position in this list.
In this ranking, only England captain Ben Stokes (69 sixes) surpasses Pant. It is also noted that Chris Gayle from West Indies ranks fourth with 51 sixes, and Jacques Kallis from South Africa is in fifth place with 45 sixes.
Pant's career continues to grow. In 51 Test matches across 88 innings, he has scored 3596 runs at an average of 43.33, including 8 centuries and 19 half-centuries. What is particularly interesting is that Pant currently has 98 sixes in his career. He is just two sixes away from joining the elite club of players who have scored 100 sixes in Test history.
If he hits two more sixes in the second innings of the Dutch Test, he will join Ben Stokes (138), Brendon McCullum (107), and Edgm Gillchrist (100).
