Brazil demonstrates a high level of corporate artificial intelligence adoption, ranking among the markets with the highest use of AI. According to a global study by Sinch conducted among 2,527 executives, 76% of Brazilian companies maintain AI agents in operation. This figure exceeds the global average of 62%, as well as the United States' level of 67%.
However, expansion in this area is accompanied by several governance issues, leading some companies to suspend or cancel AI projects. In Brazil, 80% of organizations have already halted or modified some AI implementation, with data or personal information leaks occurring in 39% of these cases.
Despite these difficulties, companies' intentions to increase spending remain high. The study shows that 66% of Brazilian businesses plan to increase their investments in AI by more than 25%. Only India demonstrates a higher pace, reaching 71%.
Infrastructure has also become a focus. Currently, 48% of Brazilian companies are looking at new suppliers to support AI projects, trailing only India, which reaches 50%.
Regional Comparison and Data Protection Issues
Differences in adoption rates become even more apparent when comparing regions. In Latin America, 21% of companies plan to increase their AI investments by more than 50%, whereas this percentage is 12% in North America. Nevertheless, the Latin American region also reports more data protection issues. According to the study, 41% of organizations were forced to disable AI agents after leaks, compared to 26% in North America.
Across the Americas, 87.2% of companies consider communication infrastructure vital for their AI projects. This same percentage of companies stated that they evaluated or negotiated with new suppliers in the last 12 months.
Mario Marchetti, Sinch's CEO in Latin America, noted that the current moment requires a shift in focus. He stated: "The task now is not about adopting AI, but about ensuring that it is safe, manageable, and capable of providing a consistent customer experience."
The study, titled The AI Production Paradox, surveyed senior executives in ten countries and six economic sectors. The results show that launching AI agents is already a reality for many Brazilian companies. The next step will be maintaining these systems without compromising security and governance.
