Toyota is gradually launching its long-awaited ninth-generation Hilux. After the Double Cab and Xtra Cab models were presented in June, the first versions of the Single Cab are now available.

Similar to other body types, currently only diesel models with the 2.8-liter GD-6 engine are offered, and the only available trim level is SRX. Buyers can expect a price of R587,200 for the Raised Body 4x2 SRX version and R663,800 for the four-wheel-drive version, which is approximately R70,000 cheaper than equivalent Double Cab models.

Nevertheless, smaller eight-generation Hilux engines are still on sale: the 2.0-liter petrol version starts from R379,700, and the 2.4-liter GD-6 model is available in the price range of R426,300 to R553,800.

The 2.4-liter diesel engine will be introduced in the new generation of Hilux at a later stage and will again be paired with a manual transmission.

The recently launched Hilux 2.8 GD-6 SRX is currently offered only with a six-speed automatic transmission; as before, the diesel engine provides 150 kW of power and 500 Nm of torque.

The interior is finished in a basic configuration but includes a touchscreen and a rearview camera. The payload capacity is 845 kg for the 4x2 version and 920 kg for the 4x4 version, while the towing capacity reaches 2,800 kg and 3,500 kg respectively.

The new Hilux SRX is equipped with 17-inch steel wheels and a rear differential lock. The cabin features fabric seats, manual air conditioning, an 8.0-inch infotainment system with a rearview camera, two USB-C ports, electric windows and mirrors, and a multifunction steering wheel with height and reach adjustment. Safety features include seven airbags, ABS brakes, and vehicle stability control. The fabric seats have built-in headrests.

Both models come with a three-year warranty covering up to 100,000 km and a service plan for nine services at 90,000 km.

Uzbekistan plans to allocate $50 million for projects related to the construction and renovation of the hotel fund. These funds are intended for building new facilities, reconstructing existing hotels, and purchasing necessary equipment.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced these measures on August 18 during an open dialogue with business representatives held in Khorezm.

These steps to strengthen the hotel infrastructure are driven by the increase in the number of foreign tourists. Since the beginning of this year, 8 million foreign guests have arrived in Uzbekistan, with their average length of stay in the country reaching eight days.

Support for Entrepreneurs and Benefits

Entrepreneurs engaged in the construction and modernization of hotels will have access to loans in national currency for up to ten years at an annual interest rate of 16%. Subsidies related to the construction of three-, four-, and five-star hotels have also been extended for two years. Provided the hotel category is confirmed, obtaining a conclusion from a foreign company will no longer be required.

Tax benefits for land and property for hotels will be extended until 2030, allowing them to pay these taxes at a rate ten times lower than the standard rate. For hotels accommodating over 50 people, banks will be authorized to independently install ATMs that accept foreign cash currency.

Furthermore, services provided by tour operators to foreign visitors will be equated to exports and exempted from VAT. Customs benefits for importing tourist buses, electric buses, and minibusses have been extended for another year, and no excise tax will be charged for these vehicles.

It was previously reported that businessmen in Uzbekistan can begin construction immediately after purchasing a land plot at auction, bypassing the lengthy process of collecting permits, which previously took six to twelve months. Land plots will now be put up for auction with a complete set of necessary materials, including the project, architectural and planning assignment, and construction permit.
