Approximately 50 female students from the tribal girls' hostel, located at the main office of the Sirohi district in Rajasthan, independently walked to the district administrative committee to file their complaints. The students raised several serious allegations concerning both the quality of food and sanitary and general living conditions.
Furthermore, the students complained about the warden's behavior, and this issue was also submitted for consideration to the district collector. Upon receiving the cases, immediate orders were issued to conduct an investigation.
These accounts testify to the dissatisfaction that prompted around 50 students to leave their hostel and reach the district administrative committee to personally present their problems to District Collector Rohitashva Singh Tomar.
The students claim that the conditions in the hostel have long been substandard. The most pressing issue is the quality of the food they receive; they report repeatedly finding insects in the food.
The students' complaints are not limited to nutrition. They also voiced their difficulties to the administration regarding cleanliness, living conditions, and other basic amenities. Moreover, they stated that when they raised the issue of improving conditions, the warden's behavior was unsatisfactory.
Collector Rohitashva Singh Tomar took the students' complaints very seriously. He held a conversation with them for an hour, listening to all their problems. After this, the collector summoned the SDM, Tehsildar, and ADPC of the Education Department and instructed a full investigation into the situation. Orders were also given to form an inquiry committee to quickly ascertain the circumstances of the complaints.
The administration also took immediate measures to ensure the safety of the students who arrived at the administrative committee. Under the collector's direction, all students were safely transported back to the hostel on four government vehicles.
