Acquiring a foldable phone is ideal for consumers looking for large screens to multitask and consume media while maintaining practicality and portability. Selecting the best model depends on factors such as the type of fold (book or clamshell), durability, and hardware performance combined with battery life.
Tecnoblog compiled a list of nine foldable smartphones available for purchase in Brazil in 2026, presenting top options from manufacturers like Samsung, Motorola, and Huawei, detailing the pros and cons of each device.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
This model has a book format and features a 6.5-inch external screen, allowing it to be used as a conventional smartphone without needing to open it. When closed, it measures 8.9 mm thick and weighs 215 g. When opened, it transforms into something similar to a tablet, displaying an 8-inch internal screen that uses the Flex Titanium structure, which improves panel support and reduces the visibility of the central crease.
The Samsung device demonstrates the brand's advancement in the foldable segment, achieving only 4.1 mm thickness when open. Its rear camera is composed of a triple system: a 200 MP sensor, a 50 MP ultrawide lens, and a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Compared to the Z Fold 7, the Fold 8 Ultra increased the battery capacity to 5,000 mAh, using silicon-carbon technology, and received a 50 MP ultrawide. However, it maintains IP48 certification, which is considered insufficient compared to the IP68 of traditional phones regarding fine dust resistance.
Galaxy Z Fold 8
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 introduces the 'passport' format, featuring a 5.5-inch external screen in a 10:16 ratio. Closed, the device measures 9.7 mm thick and weighs 201 g. When opened, its 7.6-inch internal screen, with a 4:3 ratio, resembles a compact tablet, equipped with a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel and up to 120 Hz refresh rate, although it does not include a Privacy Screen.
This smartphone operates with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, has a 4,800 mAh silicon-carbon battery, and supports 45W wired charging. A negative aspect is that the rear camera setup is limited to two 50 MP sensors, lacking a telephoto lens, unlike the Z Fold 8 Ultra.
Galaxy Z Fold 7
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 features a 6.5-inch external screen with Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology and Full HD+ resolution. When closed, it measures 8.9 mm thick and weighs 215 g. When opened, the 8-inch internal screen displays QXGA+ resolution and offers multitasking functionality with multiple windows.
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, has a 200 MP main camera, and IP48 certification, offering partial protection against solids but resisting water splashes. Its weak point lies in the 4,400 mAh battery, which is lower than the subsequent generation, and in the wired charging of only 25W, which is below the latest models.
Galaxy Z Flip 8
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 has a 4.1-inch external screen, enabling the use of AI features and applications even when the device is closed. This device is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, measuring 6.1 mm thick and weighing 180 g. When opened, the 6.9-inch main screen uses a 120 Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. It comes equipped with the Exynos 2600 in Brazil, a 50 MP main camera, and a 4,300 mAh silicon-carbon battery, with 25W charging.
Compared to the Z Flip 7, the update is considered incremental, as cameras, battery, RAM, and storage remain practically unchanged, with advancements concentrated in the processor generation and the slimmer design.
Galaxy Z Fold 7
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 continues to be a productivity benchmark. Its 4.1-inch Super AMOLED external screen is used to display quick notifications, widgets, and access the camera without opening the device. When opened, the 6.9-inch internal screen uses Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology at 120 Hz, providing greater fluidity during use. The device has a thickness of 13.7 mm and weighs 188 g.
It is equipped with the Exynos 2500 processor, a 50 MP main camera, and a 12 MP ultrawide, in addition to a 4,300 mAh battery and IP48 certification. A disadvantage is that the 25W wired charging can be considered slow when compared to newer models.
Motorola Razr Fold
The Motorola Razr Fold features a 6.6-inch external screen (LTPO P-OLED) and an 8.1-inch AMOLED internal screen with 2K resolution and up to 120 Hz refresh rate. Closed, it is about 9.9 mm thick, and when open, approximately 4.6 mm. The device runs on the high-performance Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, offering 16 GB of RAM, up to 1 TB of storage, and a 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery.
Charging reaches 80W wired, and the rear system integrates three 50 MP cameras, including a periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. A highlight of the Razr Fold is the combination of a large internal screen, high-capacity battery, fast charging, and support for the Moto Pen Ultra, coupled with a more robust photographic system than its competitors. However, its high weight compromises its pocket portability.
Motorola Razr 70 Ultra
The Motorola Razr 70 Ultra has a 4-inch external screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1272 pixels, which is sufficient to operate applications without needing to open the device. The 7-inch internal screen features a resolution of 1224 x 2992 pixels and up to 165 Hz refresh rate, with a body thickness of 7.19 mm and a weight of 199 g. The camera setup includes three 50 MP lenses (wide-angle, ultrawide/macro, and selfie).
The device incorporates advanced hardware, such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, with options for 12 or 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Additionally, the 5,000 mAh (silicon-carbon) battery supports 68W charging. Compared to the standard Razr 70 model, the Ultra version differs with a larger external screen and a more powerful chip, but it has a significantly higher cost within the Motorola portfolio.
