A case of insects being found in laddu distributed to children for Independence Day surfaced in the rural area of Indore. The health condition of two children deteriorated after consuming these sweets, causing panic.
Upon receiving information, employees from the Food Control Department and the police from the Hurail police station arrived at the scene, confiscated the laddu, and closed the relevant shop. Video footage of the incident is also circulating on social media.
The situation occurred at the secondary school of Songuradia village, which is part of the Dhamanoi panchayat in the Indore district, during the celebration of Independence Day. Laddu were distributed to the children during the event.
An eight-year-old girl complained about finding insects in the laddu. Upon inspection, it was revealed that insects were indeed found in the sweets. Residents immediately stopped distributing the laddu.
Shortly thereafter, two children felt unwell after eating the laddu, and this was reported to the district administration. A team from the Food Control Department and the Hurail police station took samples of the laddu for analysis and closed the associated shop. The administration has begun investigating the entire matter.
