NTA published the preliminary answer keys and answer sheets for the CSIR-UGC NET examination for June 2026 on August 16.
Participants can log into the official CSIR-NET portal to view and download their answer sheets and keys.
Candidates who disagree with any answer have the opportunity to file an appeal within the specified period—from August 16 to August 18 until 23:00. A fee of 200 rupees must be paid for each objection.
Following the incident involving the leak of examination materials, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated the 'Build New NTA' mission to conduct new recruitment drives. Questions regarding the security of exams, technologies, transparency, and the overall functioning of the NTA have long been raised, and now the agency is preparing to implement improvements in its operations.
As part of this initiative, the National Testing Agency has announced recruitment for various positions in fields such as cybersecurity, vigilance, examination center organization, research, data handling, and communications. The deadline for applications for these roles is set for August 21, 2026. NTA is responsible for conducting major national examinations, including JEE Main, NEET UG, CUET, and UGC NET.
Under this new recruitment drive, NTA plans to attract specialists from diverse areas. The agency has opened 4 General Manager (GM) vacancies with a three-year contract. These positions cover areas such as assessment, research and psychometrics, network and test center management, information security and vigilance, and investigations and forensic science.
The General Manager for Network and Test Center Management will be responsible for organizing the operations of NTA examination centers located in over 500 cities across the country and in some international locations. His duties include quality control, capacity management, and adherence to standards at these centers.
The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) will oversee NTA's cyber defense, while the General Manager for Vigilance, Investigations, and Forensic Science will handle internal audits, monitoring, and digital forensics. This indicates that NTA is hiring not just personnel to administer exams, but experts to strengthen the security, organization, and impartiality of the process.
These recruitments are taking place amid numerous concerns about the protection of examination materials, center organization, technologies, and information dissemination methods. The goal of the new hires is to address the identified shortcomings. The CISO's work aims to enhance cybersecurity, while the vigilance, investigations, and forensic science team will be responsible for checking any violations and analyzing digital evidence. Furthermore, the network and test center operations team will conduct continuous monitoring of examination centers nationwide. Thus, through these new recruitments, NTA seeks to reinforce the security of exams, technology, center organization, and the oversight system.
The agency also places emphasis on data and research. NTA is seeking researchers capable of developing research methodologies based on reliable information and data. This will help NTA improve its decision-making, planning, and overall operations. NTA is also recruiting data analysts and media monitors whose task is to track news, public opinion, and emerging issues concerning NTA in the media landscape. This signifies that NTA is now focusing more on early problem detection and timely action based on data and public feedback.
This recruitment is not limited to senior roles. Through the Pratibha Setu UPSC portal, NTA has also opened positions for 16 young professionals. This is the first such initiative by NTA. These roles offer opportunities to work in areas such as academic research, legal research, finance, and accounting. Priority will be given to candidates holding a relevant Master's degree or professional qualification.
