A few weeks ago, no one could have predicted that Imran Hashmi would release a major successful film at the box office. His movie 'Avarapan 2' initially did not generate much hype due to its songs, teasers, and trailers. Many believed that Sunny Deol's film 'Bantwara 1947' would easily win in the competitive race for the box office. However, the power of nostalgia cannot be underestimated, as it is capable of surprising at any moment.
Imran Hashmi's film 'Avarapan 2' managed to surpass Sunny Deol's new movie 'Bantwara 1947', relying on the factor of nostalgia. The film, which already showed good results in pre-sales, received a strong start in theaters. While 'Bantwara 1947' looked pale against this success, many theaters showed few viewers.
Nevertheless, on the second day, both films managed to capitalize on positive audience reviews. Saturday saw an increase in 'Avarapan 2's revenue, while 'Bantwara 1947' also demonstrated a significant jump compared to the first day.
According to the Sakencilk report, Imran's film earned a net income of 33.75 crore rupees with a 55% attendance on the second day. The total net income for 'Avarapan 2' reached 55.75 crore rupees. In contrast, Sunny Deol's film earned 13.50 crore rupees on the second day with a 34% attendance. Over two days, the total net income for 'Bantwara 1947' amounted to 19.25 crore rupees, significantly lagging behind 'Avarapan 2's figures. Furthermore, the number of screenings for 'Bantwara 1947' was substantially lower than that of 'Avarapan 2': Sunny's film was shown on approximately 8,000 screens, whereas Imran's film is showing on over 10,000 screens.
At the current pace of promotion, it is evident that 'Avarapan 2's earnings for Sunday will be significantly higher than for the first two days. If Imran's film reaches around 100 crore rupees in the first weekend, it will be the first such achievement in the actor's career in his solo film. If 'Bantwara 1947' accelerates its pace, it could potentially exceed the 50 crore rupee mark in the first weekend. However, this depends on audience preference.
