The Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan reported on a meeting held at the Institute of Rice Research under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan. The meeting took place with Kim Sang-hyun, Director of the Center for International Agricultural Cooperation of the Republic of Korea's Macroagricultural Policy Department.
The parties discussed issues of industry digitalization, the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies, and the development of scientific cooperation. Abdulla Mansurov, the Institute's director, presented the main areas of the institution's activities to the delegation from South Korea. He particularly emphasized scientific research in rice cultivation, the development of new varieties, the creation of modern agricultural technologies, and measures to strengthen the link between science and production.
The central point of the meeting was the digital transformation of rice farming. Participants examined the possibilities of applying artificial intelligence technologies to increase the efficiency of rice cultivation and improve crop monitoring. In particular, the prospect of creating a modern digital platform that would allow for early detection and forecasting of potential problems during rice cultivation was discussed.
This platform should also be used for remote monitoring of crop conditions, optimizing agrotechnical measures, and forecasting yields. Special attention was paid to integrating the results of scientific research into the digital database. Furthermore, the parties exchanged views on implementing modern technologies in rice farming practice and improving the qualifications of specialists and young scientists.
Another topic of discussion was the expansion of experience exchange between scientists from Uzbekistan and South Korea. At the end of the meeting, the parties identified promising directions for the development of digital and innovative technologies in rice farming, as well as potential ways to implement joint scientific projects. Participants also agreed to focus on strengthening the professional potential of specialists and further developing scientific cooperation between the two countries.
Cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea in the field of implementing digital technologies in agriculture, increasing production efficiency, and developing modern agroservices is expanding. As part of this cooperation, the creation of a center named 'Aqli chorvachilik' (Rational Livestock) is planned.
