As part of a large new operation, Dubai Customs successfully thwarted an attempt to export over 70 million smuggled cigarettes destined for a European country.
Teams responsible for targeted searches and inspections discovered nine consignments of cargo across three air freight terminals. These consignments were linked to a single importer through shipment data analysis and the use of risk indicators.
