Results of entrance exams for higher education institutions for the 2026/2027 academic year published in Uzbekistan

Regulations governing the real estate market have been updated in Uzbekistan. Realtors are now required to undergo training, successfully pass a qualification exam, and obtain the corresponding certificate. According to the new rules, official activity is permitted only for specialists and agencies listed in the unified state register.

The new version of the Law 'On Realtor Activity' was approved on August 7, 2026, and will come into effect on November 8. This document establishes unified rules for all realtors and real estate agencies. Supervision of this industry is now entrusted to the Agency for State Asset Management.

The key change is the introduction of mandatory examination and certification. A specialist must complete a specialized course, pass the certification, and receive a qualification certificate. These documents will be issued by professional public associations.

Furthermore, realtor companies and agents can only operate legally after being included in the Unified Register. This register will publish all available information about specialists, agencies, professional associations, and their operational activities.

The legislation also details the scope of realtors' activities, including accompanying real estate transactions, organizing auctions, trust management of properties, as well as providing consulting and advertising services.

A new system called 'multilisting' is also being introduced. This unified platform is designed to speed up the transaction process and optimize interaction between parties: sellers, buyers, and agencies.

The creation of an open register of realtors in Uzbekistan, accompanied by a rating system and unified service standards on the Realting.uz portal, was previously announced.

From the new academic year 2027/2028, applicants with disabilities will receive additional time frames when taking entrance examinations at higher education institutions.

According to the new presidential decree issued on August 4, 2026, the extra time will be 50% of the standard exam duration.

Similar concessions will be provided to teachers with disabilities when undergoing certification and taking exams to obtain a national certificate in general education disciplines.

In addition to the extended time, participants will be able to use examination materials formatted in Braille, as well as tasks in electronic and audio formats.

Previously, applicants in Uzbekistan were given two weeks to decide on their choice of university, field of study, and learning format.

Since August 1, students in Uzbekistan have had the opportunity to apply for accommodation in student dormitories through the EPIGU public services portal.

Priority in dormitory allocation will be given to students with benefits who are entitled to move in first. After the spots are allocated among privileged categories, the remaining quota will be assigned to other applicants in order of queue.

For students without benefits, specific percentages of places have been established: 55 to 65 percent is allocated to first-year students, 15 to 20 percent to second-year students, and 20 to 25 percent to third-year and older students.

Applicants recommended for admission to the first year during the 2026/2027 academic year can only submit their applications after the official announcement of the final admission results.

Concurrently, an updated housing registration system has been implemented. The contract payment process now automatically initiates the registration of temporary residence at the actual place of living. Previously, this process required collecting numerous documents and applying to various state bodies; however, now the entire procedure is consolidated into one service: the student makes a payment, receives confirmation, and is immediately registered.

This registration remains valid throughout the period stipulated in the concluded contract. Furthermore, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation previously refuted rumors circulating on social networks regarding the sale of student dormitories.
