A new public eco-territory will be formed in the Yunusabad district of the capital of Uzbekistan. This project involves creating green zones, walking routes, and recreation areas, and it was developed taking into account the opinions of local residents.
The new area, located at the intersection of Moikurgon and Binkat streets, is currently being cleared and prepared for landscaping. This information was provided by the press service of the Yunusabad district hokimiyat.
In addition to existing greenery, the plan includes planting 1.8 thousand ornamental trees and 3 thousand shrubs belonging to six different species on this territory. A drip irrigation system will be implemented to ensure sufficient watering of the new plants.
Flower beds and pedestrian paths will also be organized in the area, as well as various recreation zones. Benches and trash cans will be installed for visitors' convenience, and an outdoor lighting system is planned for illuminating the area in the evening.
Previously, plans were announced to transform Yangishahar street into a tourist zone in the capital's Yunusabad district. This project includes the placement of 24-hour retail points and recreation spaces.
The village of Zarkent in the Parkent district of the Tashkent region will become a major venue for grape enthusiasts, gastronomy, and travel from August 21 to 22. The international festival named 'Uzum Sayli' will take place there.
The main goal of holding the festival is to increase tourist flow, familiarize participants with current methods in viticulture and winemaking, and promote Uzbekistan's ecotourism products on world markets. Additionally, the event aims to attract foreign investors to this industry.
Farmers from different regions of the country, as well as entrepreneurs involved in enotourism and producers of various natural beverages, are expected to arrive in Zarkent. Visitors will have the opportunity to attend agricultural fairs and exhibitions of foreign wine brands.
A separate part of the program will be dedicated to progress in viticulture. International conferences and forums are planned where participants can exchange accumulated experience and discuss future directions for the industry.
The cultural component of the festival, organized by the Committee on Tourism together with the Tashkent region hokimiyat, will include performances by folklore groups and pop artists, as well as events dedicated to national traditions and customs.
It is worth noting that previously, the traditional three-day 'Melon Festival' was held in Khorezm, which attracted over a million visitors from around the world and was recognized in the Guinness Book of Records for the number of melon varieties tasted.
The Senate of Uzbekistan has decided to change the administrative boundaries in the Samarkand region. According to this document, the territory of the city itself will be increased, and simultaneously, the abolition of the namesake district is planned.
As a result of these transformations, over 17 thousand hectares of land will enter the composition of Samarkand. At the same time, the Samarkand district will be liquidated, and about 28 thousand hectares of its territory will be transferred to the Taylak district.
It is projected that after these changes are made, the city's population will increase to approximately 880 thousand people. This growth will allow Samarkand to approach millionaire status, which will open up opportunities for creating new industrial zones, technology parks, and service projects.
It was specifically noted that agricultural lands will retain their Category 6 status, and the volume of transferred land, amounting to 3 thousand hectares, will remain unchanged. This ensures consideration of the interests of the agrarian sector and maintains ecological balance in the region.
The adopted decision is aimed at developing Samarkand as a significant economic and tourist hub. Local authorities hope that expanding the city limits will help reduce the load from dense construction, improve the road network, and form modern infrastructure. Furthermore, the changes will increase Samarkand's attractiveness to investors and visitors, contributing to job creation and improving the quality of life for citizens.
Previously, information concerned the adjustment of Samarkand's borders, as well as those of the Samarkand and Akdaryinsky districts. After the border review is completed, large-scale projects are planned, including the construction of an elevated metro, road structures, bridges, communication tunnels, and the formation of a modern business center.
