Uzbekistan has decided on the long-term purchase of Jet A-1 aviation fuel from China. This step is aimed at increasing the stability of kerosene supplies and diversifying supply sources.
This agreement became known after a meeting between the Chairman of the Board of JSC Uzbekneftegaz, Abdugani Sanginov, and a delegation led by the Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Yu Jun. During the negotiations, the deepening of bilateral cooperation, as well as potential joint investments and new horizons in the oil and gas industry, were discussed.
One of the key issues raised at the meeting was the long-term supply of Jet A-1 aviation fuel from China to Uzbekistan. Furthermore, participants discussed the need to activate support from the Chinese embassy to establish direct partnerships between Uzbekneftegaz and Chinese entities such as China National Aviation Fuel Group (CNAF) and Sinopec.
Currently, Uzbekneftegaz already has business relations with several major Chinese enterprises, including CNPC, CCDC, BGP, Jereh, and Honghua. Their joint activities include geological exploration, well construction, provision of service, and integration of advanced technologies.
As a result of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to increase mutually beneficial cooperation, launch new technological and investment initiatives, and elevate strategic partnership in the energy sector to a qualitatively different level. It was previously announced that Uzbekistan plans to increase aviation kerosene production amid the rise in the number of international flights through Central Asia and the acceleration of the modernization process in the oil and gas sector.
