The state unitary enterprise 'Tashkent Metro' has undergone a transformation and now operates as a joint-stock company. Rakhmonbek Usmanov, who previously held the position of enterprise head, remains in this role and will continue to manage the activities of the capital's underground system.
The change in legal status is intended to promote the renewal of the management system, increase process transparency, and improve the effectiveness of decisions made. This new format is viewed as potential for the long-term growth of the metro and the integration of advanced management methods.
Specific goals have been set for the joint-stock company 'Tashkent Metro,' related to further improving the level of service for passengers and guaranteeing traffic safety. Rakhmonbek Usmanov will oversee the modernization and development processes of the metro, as well as the improvement of transport services.
As part of this transformation into a joint-stock company, it is emphasized that this is one of the stages in creating a more modern, convenient, safe, and effective public transport complex in the capital. Furthermore, the Tashkent Metro fleet was recently supplemented with three new four-car electric trains. These new sets will allow for reduced intervals between trains, improved service, and the gradual retirement of outdated carriages that have been in operation for many years.
A working group, including representatives from the management of the Main Directorate for Transport Development and Road Transport Infrastructure of Tashkent, the interdepartmental operational headquarters, and JSC 'Toshshahartranskhizmat', conducted an inspection of the capital's transport infrastructure facilities.
As part of the inspection, specialists closely examined bus stops located on Fargona Yuli Street to assess the level of landscaping and passenger conditions. Subsequently, the commission proceeded to the 1st Bus Park, where the technical condition of the rolling stock and the maintenance of the buses were evaluated. Instructions were issued to the responsible employees regarding the urgent elimination of the identified shortcomings.
During the inspection, the final stop named 'Aviasozlar' was also checked. The tour concluded on Shota Rustaveli Street, where construction work is underway to expand the dedicated lane for BRT. Specialists inspected the ongoing projects and determined tasks aimed at ensuring the safe and convenient operation of public transport.
In the Shaikantakhur district of Tashkent, employees of the Ecopolice of the Main Directorate of Ecology and Climate Change of the capital conducted an inspection of the condition of seedlings planted as part of the nationwide initiative 'Yashil Maqon'. The check was carried out on the territory of general education school No. 41 in the Gulabad mahalla.
As a result of the inspection, it was established that the necessary agrotechnical care for the planted trees was not carried out timely or according to established requirements. This led to conditions not being provided that were necessary for the healthy development and preservation of these plants.
Regarding this discovered violation, an administrative protocol was drawn up against the responsible person, which was compiled in accordance with Part 4 of Article 79 of the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Liability. Representatives of the ecology department emphasized that control over the condition of all planted trees and shrubs will be carried out continuously.
