The start of the day determines the direction of one's entire life, according to the principles of Vastu Shastra and Hinduism. It is believed that how a person begins their morning—what actions they take and what they observe after waking up—directly influences their energy, health, and success. Observing proper morning rituals helps maintain a positive mood throughout the day.
Vastu and astrology offer a number of simple yet very effective morning practices (Morning Rituals) that can be integrated into the daily routine to strengthen one's fortune. Below are seven actions that are believed to bring success and prosperity into life.
The first thing to do immediately after waking up is to join both palms together and look at them facing forward (Karagre Vasate Lakshmi). According to religious beliefs, gods reside on the back of the palm: Mother Lakshmi in the upper part, Mother Saraswati in the middle, and Lord Vishnu in the root area. Performing this action maintains positive energy throughout the day and ensures an auspicious beginning.
Next, before getting out of bed, it is necessary to worship Mother Earth (Prithvi Vandana) by touching her with the right hand or both hands. Since we step upon the earth, this gesture is a request for forgiveness and a prayer for a good start to the day. This helps alleviate the negative influence of Rahu and Shani, as well as brings stability to life.
After taking a morning shower, it is highly auspicious to offer water to the Sun God (Surya Arghya). In the copper vessel used for offering, a little turmeric, red flowers, or akshata can be added. Offering water to the Sun promotes increased respect, career advancement, and strengthens self-confidence.
The next step is meditation and the worship of deities. After bathing, one should light a lamp in the home temple and ask for blessings from one's favorite deity or parents. A few minutes spent meditating before the deity contribute to achieving peace of mind, helping to keep the mind focused and calm throughout the day.
In Hinduism, sacred attention is paid to the Tulsi plant. After a morning shower, one should water the Tulsi plant, and in the evening, light a ghee lamp near it. Regularly performing this practice prevents negative energy from entering the house and attracts the special grace of Mother Lakshmi.
Vastu Shastra states that the main entrance of the house serves as a path for the arrival of deities, so cleanliness and order must be maintained in the morning. One should clean the house and then sprinkle water at the main entrance to keep it clean. It is important never to allow garbage or dirt to accumulate near the main entrance, as this discourages Mother Lakshmi from entering the house.
Finally, it is recommended to feed birds. In the morning, seeds and clean water should be left for birds on the roof or balcony. This action helps eliminate various defects in the natal chart, earns merit, and allows obstacles in life to disappear naturally.
