Mahindra has introduced the Scorpio Lifestyler—a new model designed for consumers seeking a more powerful and distinctive SUV. This vehicle is built on the robust Scorpio-N platform, featuring an imposing exterior and a highly attractive pricing strategy.
While the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross start at price points exceeding 25 lakh rupees, Mahindra states that the entry price for its new pickup will be below 19.79 lakh rupees. Thus, the competition is not only in vehicle specifications but also in pricing.
The Scorpio Lifestyler is a production version of the lifestyle pickup that the company first showed to the world as a concept global pickup in 2023. This pickup truck, built on the Scorpio N body-on-frame platform, directly challenges models like the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross in the Indian market. Special attention is paid to the fact that Mahindra offers it at a significantly lower price compared to competitors; the cost is about 12 lakh rupees less than the Hilux.
Mahindra asserts that the starting price of the Scorpio Lifestyler in India will be under 19.79 lakh rupees (excluding taxes). Currently, the company has only unveiled this model, and sales are expected to begin only in April 2027. At this price point, this pickup truck will compete with the Isuzu V-Cross and Toyota Hilux, whose starting prices are 25.50 lakh rupees and 31.99 lakh rupees, respectively.
The Scorpio Lifestyler is developed on the same body-on-frame chassis as the Scorpio N, allowing it to be called the 'brother' of the Scorpio, although its appearance differs. This pickup is designed as an off-road vehicle capable of confidently traversing difficult road conditions. Besides India, it will be sold in several global markets, but outside India, it will be presented under the name Lifestyler, not Scorpio.
Regarding design, the Scorpio Lifestyler boasts a very brutal and rugged look. It features high LED headlights with L-shaped DRLs at the front. A wide honeycomb grille is adorned with chrome accents. The name Scorpio is written on the hood, and the Mahindra branding is visible on the sturdy protective plate at the bottom. A fine mesh air intake and vertical LED fog lights give the front end an aggressive appearance.
The side profile displays a two-door cabin. It is equipped with off-road tires on two-tone rims, thick side cladding, roof rails, and a unique beltline. Vertical LED taillights with C-shaped DRLs are located at the rear. The name Mahindra is displayed in large letters on the tailgate, and the lower bumper shares the same brutal design as the front end.
